"new year new me" is not something I strive for anymore. I fully believe it’s yet another system put in place to purposely induce failure— to strip away our confidence and keep us buying into the systems, all to endlessly chase the carrot.
be more, do more, achieve more, prove yourself more.
it makes us believe there is a sudden and complete transformation overnight, as if the old you is meant to be crumpled up and tossed in the trash from an old notebook
healing isn’t about achieving something outside of yourself, or to fill your pride. it is about returning to yourself- returning to the natural state of you- before the world stepped in.
how could this possibly happen over the course of a few days or even months? This is lifelong work, with no linear timeline. Any industry that tells you differently is trying to sell you something or chip away at your gleaming sense of worth and empowerment.
you can drink water. you can join a gym or pilates studio. you can make vision boards. you can formulate a 12-step skincare routine after purchasing the regimen of your favorite tiktok blogger— but if you aren't sitting with yourself, the cycle just continues.
there is no new year, new me
there is only appreciating old me and how she got me here with little to no information, and healing her to
new year, uncovering lost little me. new year, more me.
building and rebuilding and coming back home, one step at a time.
I hope you remember you don’t have to achieve anything right now to do so.
